Monday, 21 August 2006: Trevor Sykes joins CRJ

The Board of Copper Range Limited (ASX - CRJ) is pleased to announce that Mr Trevor Sykeshas joined the Board as an independent Non - Executive Director effective today.

Copper Range Chairman, Ian Daymond, states "We are privileged and very proud to have Trevor join our Company which is dedicated to building a strong resource base in South Australia. He is a staunch critic of unethical behaviour in Australian business and an unparalleled raconteur of the trials and tribulations of junior explorers as well as larger mining companies. Growing up in Adelaide, Trevor became one of Australia's leading finance writers. For the past 10 years he has been Senior Writer on The Australian Financial Review, having previously been Editor of The Bulletin (1980 – 1984), Editor-in-Chief of Australian Business (1985 – 1991) and Melbourne Editor of The Australian Financial Review.

During his career, Trevor has won five national awards for finance journalism and authored seven books on aspects of finance and financial history. He is the creator of the well-known "Pierpont" column, which he has written continuously for 33 years.

Trevor has a wide knowledge of the mining industry. His first book, "The Money Miners", was a history of the Poseidon boom. He is a member of the South Australian Minerals & Petroleum Expert Group (SAMPEG), which was formed to advise the Premier of South Australia on resource development in that State. At the Diggers & Dealers Forum in Kalgoorlie in 2003 he was awarded the forum’s top honour, the Geoffrey J. Stokes Memorial Award, for his contributions to the mining industry. Trevor is also the patron of the Sydney Mining Club.

Trevor is also respected for his analytical ability. His most recent book, "The Numbers Game", is a guide to a balance sheet analysis. He is a member of the Independent Reference Group to the Master of Finance course at the University of New South Wales.

Copper Range is Trevor's first listed company directorship since his retirement from journalism in December 2005.
