Adelaide Fold Belt

Copper Range has interests in a significant tenement holding in South Australia's Flinders Ranges, or Adelaide Fold Belt, totalling over 9,000 kms2.

The Adelaide Fold Belt contains over 800 copper mines and prospects. Apart from a burst of exploration activity during the 1970s and 1980s, the region has been largely overlooked by modern explorers. Current concepts of deposit formation have not been applied to exploration, most known historic workings have not been adequately tested and drilling on targets has been sporadic. Current copper production is meagre.

Copper Range plans to reverse that situation. We see excellent potential for discovery of large Zambian-type primary copper deposits. In addition, there are abundant opportunities to identify oxide copper resources which could be rapidly developed to provide early cash flow.

The Adelaide Fold Belt is managed as three separate project areas:-

  • Hawker Project
  • Burra Kapunda Project
  • Flinders Mines Farm-in agreement
